Setting Restrictions for BTC Computer Lab for Testing

This is for the BTC (Business Technology Center) computer lab in 323 and 327 Chiles.

Testing usually involves some kind of combination of web limiting and app limiting.

Web limiting is used to determine what websites a participant is "allowed" to visit.

Due to some limitations in the version of software used in the BTC computer lab we also need to apply app limiting on the Chrome app. Should be noted that this issue is resolved in the newer version of Insight running in the 225 Chiles computer lab.

How to Set Network Restrictions for Testing in Canvas

Under Limit Web / Configure Web Limiting

Enter into the Allow only section:
canvas.uoregon.edu
canvas-user-content.com
inscloudgate.net
shibboleth.uoregon.edu
sso.canvaslms.com
duosecurity.com

You can also limit access to the specific course by adding links to specific course sections of Canvas. This will be different for every course, so requires a bit of research on the part of the instructors to determine these links. Also recommend adding these only after everyone has signed into canvas successfully.

The file associated with the link below can be used to import the urls listed above into the Configure Web Limiting settings so that you won't have to type them in -
